[SkyLife] Provide an ultra-high-definition content anywhere on a nationwide scale
SkyLife is South Koreas only satellite broadcasting service provider and a convergence media platform that provides satellite-IP convergence broadcasting services.
Through the development of satellite-IP convergence technology, SkyLife has released satellite-Android TV, uninterrupted in-vehicle broadcasting service SkyLife LTE TV (SLT), OTT TELBEE for TV, and Skylife AI (2019), which combines Google AI speakers for the first time in the world.
It is also introducing innovative IP-based services and is striving to become a leader in the broadcasting and communications market beyond the boundaries of satellite broadcasting. However, the satellite broadcasting service was heavily influenced by weather because it was serviced through satellite antennas.

SMR (Smart Media Rap) is a broadcasting video content distribution and advertising agency founded by MBC and SBS Media Holdings.
The company currently gets video content from 8 major South Korean broadcasters (MBC, SBS, KBS, CJ E&M, JTBC, TV Chosun, MBN, Channel A) and provides advertisements to online contents providers such as Naver, Kakao, YouTube, and GOMTV.
SMR needed a technology that could easily combine advertisements and videos into a single file to develop an advertising product that could combine TV content and digital video advertisements.

[POOQ] High-quality and High-definition Streaming Service with Optimized CDN and Additional Functions
‘pooq’ from Contents Alliance Platform, a joint venture of MBC and SBS, is a service enabling users to watch terrestrial broadcasting contents of KBS, MBC, SBS and EBS as VOD and on approx.
30 channels in N screen, such as PC, smart phone and tablet PC. In line with the popularization of mobile devices, ‘pooq’ service became popular and the subscribers count exceeded 700,000 in just over two months.
Contents Alliance Platform was in need of a CDN service to successfully respond to the increasing traffic. For them, providing high-quality and high-definition service was most important considering characteristics of paid service.
